CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS
In September, visitors may experience very warm days and in October and November some very cold ones. Hunters should bring light underwear with warm outer clothing for the early part of the season and heavier underwear for the later season. Calf-high rubber boots are most useful. Leather hunting boots should be brought – the calf-high is recommended - and if the trip is planned for the latter part of the season, care
should be taken that the soles of the hunting boots are suitable for travelling over snow and ice. Woollen gloves will come in handy, too. A water-proof, knee-length parka or some other type of rainwear is a necessity.
AGE LIMITS
Applicants for small game licences must be 16 years of age or older. Applicants for big game licences must be 18 years of age or older by August 31 of the year in which they apply.
DOGS
It is unlawful to use any type of dog in the hunting of big game. Dogs are permitted in the pursuit of small game. Regulations governing the importation of animals are listed in the Travel Information section.
USE AIRCRAFT
It is illegal to hunt game from an aircraft or to use an aircraft to locate, spot or search for game for the purpose of directing or assisting another person to destroy or capture game. No person shall carry any firearm in an aircraft without a permit from the Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, but this regulation shall not apply to any equipment carried in compliance with the provisions of the Canada Aeronautics Act, the Air Regulations and any orders there under, or any aircraft flying a scheduled air service route.
LICENCE RETURNS/UNUSED TAGS
The holder of a big game licence must return the licence to the Wildlife Division within seven (7) days after the close of the season if no kill is made. The unused tags issued with the licence must also be returned.
Every hunting licence sold in the province has a questionnaire or return attached to it. Big game hunters are required to submit their questionnaire within seven (7) days of the date of kill or within seven (7) days of the close of the season. Small game hunters must submit their questionnaire within seven (7) days of
the close of the season.
Please complete the questionnaire accurately and provide all information requested.

The tags affixed and locked on the big game animal shall remain in the possession of the licence holder until the meat of the big game animal has been utilized.
